How Much Does a Week at Riu Tequila Really Cost?

Riu Tequila is an all-inclusive resort in Playacar, a gated community a short walk from Playa del Carmen in Mexico. One price covers the room, all meals, drinks, and evening shows. Here is what a real stay actually cost.

The numbers (14 nights, family of 4, hotel only): C$3,200 for the whole stay — about C$229 per night for the family. Flights were booked separately and are not part of this figure.

What the price includes: the room, unlimited food at the buffet and a la carte restaurants, drinks including alcohol, daytime activities, and evening shows — the classic all-inclusive package.

What the price does NOT include

• Flights. From Edmonton the usual route is via Calgary or another Canadian hub.
• Airport transfer. Arrange it separately or book a package that includes it.
• Visitax, the Quintana Roo visitor tax: 293 MXN per person, paid online before departure.
• Excursions. Day trips like Chichen Itza or Coba are paid on top.

How to pay less
